KYC Policy

This Know Your Customer (“KYC”) Policy explains the identity verification procedures used on our platform and the measures applied to support anti-money laundering (“AML”) and counter-terrorist financing (“CTF”) requirements. By registering for an account, submitting verification documents or using our services, you agree to the checks and procedures described in this Policy.

1. Purpose of This Policy

Langston Wealth applies KYC procedures to:

  • Confirm the identity of account holders
  • Understand who is using the platform
  • Reduce the risk of fraud and identity theft
  • Detect suspicious or unlawful financial activity
  • Support applicable anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing obligations
  • Protect customers, payment channels and platform operations

KYC checks may be required before an account is activated and may continue throughout the customer relationship.

2. Compliance Approach

Langston Wealth applies identity verification, screening and account-monitoring procedures in line with the requirements relevant to its services and the jurisdictions in which customers are accepted.

These procedures may be updated to reflect changes in:

  • Applicable laws and regulatory expectations
  • Financial crime risks
  • Sanctions requirements
  • Payment-provider rules
  • Internal account security standards

Langston Wealth may request additional information where it is considered necessary to complete a compliance review.

  • Register for a Langston Wealth account
  • Submit an application for a trading service
  • Deposit or withdraw funds
  • Change important account details
  • Use services that involve financial transactions
  • Act on behalf of another person or organisation

  • Full legal name
  • Date of birth
  • Residential address
  • Country of residence
  • Nationality
  • Email address
  • Telephone number
  • Employment or occupation details

  • Certificate of incorporation or registration
  • Registered business address
  • Company registration number
  • Constitutional or formation documents
  • Details of directors and authorised representatives
  • Shareholder or ownership information
  • Identification of ultimate beneficial owners
  • Business activity and expected account use
  • Source of business funds

Langston Wealth may verify both the organisation and the individuals who own, control or act on its behalf.

6. Documents We May Request

6.1 Proof of Identity

Accepted documents may include:

  • Passport
  • Government-issued identity card
  • Driver licence
  • Another official photographic identity document

The document should be current, clear and show the customer’s full name, photograph, date of birth and document details.

6.2 Proof of Address

Accepted documents may include:

  • Utility bill
  • Bank statement
  • Credit card statement
  • Government correspondence
  • Tax notice
  • Another official document showing the residential address

Proof of address may need to be issued within a recent period and must show the same name and address provided during registration.

6.3 Additional Information

Depending on the review, Langston Wealth may request:

  • Proof of income
  • Employment confirmation
  • Bank statements
  • Source-of-funds information
  • Source-of-wealth information
  • Payment-method ownership evidence
  • An explanation of specific transactions
  • Updated identity or address documents
  • A live verification check or photograph

Submitting a document does not automatically mean that verification has been completed.

7. Verification Process

The KYC process may include the following stages:

7.1 Account Details

The customer enters personal or business information during registration.

7.2 Document Submission

Requested documents are uploaded through the available verification channel.

7.3 Identity Review

The submitted information is checked for consistency, validity and authenticity.

7.4 Screening

Customer details may be screened against relevant sanctions, politically exposed person and risk databases.

7.5 Additional Review

More information may be requested where documents are unclear, expired, incomplete or inconsistent.

7.6 Verification Outcome

The account may be approved, restricted, declined or held for further review depending on the information available.

Processing times vary. Reviews may take longer when additional documents or manual checks are required.

8. Politically Exposed Persons

A politically exposed person, or PEP, is someone who holds or has held a prominent public position, as well as certain close family members or associates.

Being identified as a PEP does not automatically prevent a person from opening an account. It may, however, lead to:

  • Additional identity checks
  • Source-of-funds or source-of-wealth requests
  • Senior review of the account
  • More frequent monitoring
  • Updated information requests

These measures are applied because some public roles may carry a higher exposure to financial crime risk.

9. Enhanced Due Diligence

Langston Wealth may apply enhanced due diligence when a customer, transaction or account presents a higher level of risk.

Additional checks may be required in connection with:

  • High-value or unusual transactions
  • Complex ownership structures
  • Higher-risk jurisdictions
  • Politically exposed persons
  • Inconsistent account information
  • Activity that differs from the expected account profile
  • Third-party funding attempts
  • Unclear sources of funds or wealth
  • Adverse information identified during screening

Enhanced due diligence may continue for as long as the account remains active.

10. Ongoing Account Monitoring

KYC does not end when an account is opened.

Langston Wealth may continue to review:

  • Deposit and withdrawal activity
  • Transaction frequency and value
  • Changes in account behaviour
  • Payment methods used
  • Login or access patterns
  • Changes to personal or business details
  • Sanctions and watchlist results
  • Activity that appears inconsistent with the customer profile

Customers may be asked to update documents or explain account activity at any time.

11. Deposits and Withdrawals

Funding methods may be subject to identity and ownership checks.

Langston Wealth may require that:

  • Deposits come from an account or payment method in the customer’s name
  • Withdrawals return to the original funding source where possible
  • Additional documents are provided before processing a payment
  • A transaction is delayed while verification is completed
  • Third-party payments are rejected
  • Updated KYC information is supplied before funds are released

Payment reviews are intended to protect account holders and reduce unauthorised or unlawful transactions.

12. Restricted or Suspended Accounts

An account may be restricted, suspended or closed when:

  • Required verification is not completed
  • Documents appear altered, false or misleading
  • Account details cannot be confirmed
  • Requested information is not provided
  • The account is used by an unauthorised person
  • Transactions appear suspicious or inconsistent
  • Sanctions or legal restrictions apply
  • Langston Wealth cannot complete the required compliance checks

Restrictions may affect deposits, withdrawals, trading access or account administration.

Where appropriate, activity may be reported to the relevant authorities without prior notice to the customer.

13. Customer Responsibilities

Customers are expected to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information
  • Submit valid and readable documents
  • Respond to verification requests within the stated timeframe
  • Keep personal and contact details current
  • Inform Langston Wealth after changing a name, address, nationality or ownership structure
  • Use payment methods they are authorised to use
  • Avoid submitting documents belonging to another person
  • Avoid concealing the identity of an account owner or beneficiary
  • Cooperate with account and transaction reviews

Providing false information or attempting to bypass verification may result in account restrictions or closure.

14. Data Protection

KYC information is handled in accordance with the Langston Wealth Privacy Policy and applicable data-protection requirements.

Measures may include:

  • Restricted access to customer documents
  • Secure document transmission
  • Controlled internal handling
  • Storage for the period required by applicable obligations
  • Disclosure only where permitted or required
  • Security reviews of systems used to process verification data

KYC information is not collected for unrelated marketing use.

Langston Wealth may use approved third-party verification or screening providers where required to complete identity and compliance checks.

15. Record Retention

Verification documents, account information and compliance records may be retained after an account is closed where required for legal, regulatory, security or dispute-resolution purposes.

Retention periods may vary depending on the type of record and the applicable requirements.

16. Changes to This Policy

Langston Wealth may revise this KYC Policy when:

  • Verification procedures change
  • New services are introduced
  • Financial crime risks develop
  • Legal or regulatory requirements are updated
  • Payment or account processes change

The current version will be published on langstonwealth.com with an updated revision date.
